I am 48 years old and the mother of three daughters. I immigrated to this country five years ago, and since then, I began working in flower shops as an assistant. Little by little, I learned everything about flowers: their processing, care, the different types, and the design of floral arrangements. Over time, I discovered a gift I didn't even know I had: I love to design. Today, I work alongside many talented and more experienced floral designers.
In my country, floristry was the family business, but I never dedicated myself to it because I focused on my university degree in Business Administration. When I arrived in the United States, due to language barriers, I couldn't develop my career as I had hoped. So I dedicated myself to learning a trade and became a floral designer. Not only am I passionate about it, but I also discovered qualities within myself that have been recognized by other designers, such as Ms. Lidia Oquendo, my main mentor, and, above all, by my clients. A couple of months ago, after working for more than four years in two large flower shops in the city, the idea of becoming independent arose. I made arrangements for friends, family, and acquaintances, who motivated me to open my own flower shop. The name Florecer came from a dream that remained engraved in my mind, and a couple of months ago it became a reality. Despite my short career in the market, the acceptance and recognition have been very gratifying. This motivates me to continue growing and opening doors, thanks to the talent God has given me and the effort that is now beginning to bear fruit: My Florists in West Palm Beach.
