I am 47 years old, and mother of three girls. I immigrated to the United States three and a half years ago, and since then, I began working in flower shops as an assistant. Slowly, I learned everything about flowers—processing, care, different types, and designing floral arrangements. Over time, I discovered a gift I didn't know I had: I love designing. Today, I work alongside many talented floral designers with more experience.
In my home country, the florist business was a family tradition, but I never dedicated myself to it because I focused on my university career in Management. When I arrived in the United States, due to language barriers, I couldn't develop my career as I had hoped. So, I dedicated myself to learning a trade and became a floral designer. Not only do I love it, but I also discovered qualities within myself that have been recognized by other designers, like Mrs. Lidia Oquendo, my main mentor, and, most importantly, by my customers.
A couple of months ago, the idea of becoming independent arose after working for more than three years in two large flower shops in the city. I made arrangements for friends and family, who motivated me to start my own flower shop. The name Florist Forecer came from a dream, where that name stayed in my mind, and a couple of months ago, it became a reality. Despite the short time in the market, the acceptance and recognition have been very rewarding for me. This encourages me to keep growing and opening doors, thanks to the talent that God has given me and the effort that is now beginning to bear fruit.
